Locale specific number formatting

RESOLVED: MOVED

Description Mathias Brodala 2008-06-01 08:15:03 CEST
User-Agent: Opera/9.27 (X11; Linux i686; U; de)
Build Identifier:

Having Thunar format numbers in its file list view depending on the locale would be quite useful. For example "1000 B" would become "1.000 B" and a image size of "10000x1807" would become "10.000x1807" or even "10.000×1807". (Both with locale de_DE.)

This would make reading such numbers much easier.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a file with 1000 Bytes in size (for example)
2. Hover it / enter its properties dialog

Actual Results:
Thunar displays the plain number of bytes / pixels.

Expected Results:
The numbers should be formatted as specified by the current locale.
