A custom date format is lost after a standard format is configured.

Reproduce as follows:

Display the datetime properties dialog.
Select "Custom..." from the date format menu.
Replace the contents of the custom format input box with "%F".
Click close.
Display the properties dialog again.
The custom format is again displayed.
Select a standard format from the format menu.
Select the custom format entry from the format menu.
The previously configured custom format is replaced with the selected standard format.

This behavior makes it impossible to switch back and forth between a custom format and a standard format.

The expected behavior is for the custom format to be preserved, if there is one.

If users want to create a custom format starting with a standard format, they can blank the custom format box, select a standard format, and then select the custom format again.

This is assigned to the previous maintainer.

Yeah, that's bothered me before, too.

I thought about this a bit more and changed my mind. Since the custom format is in a text entry widget that disappears when not relevant (it's not just grayed out), it makes more sense to me to keep the behavior as is.
