I have a second disk partition with Windows that is recognized as a device by nautilus on the desktop and side pane. This partition is on the same hard disk as my "File System." Xfdesktop does not recognize it, and likewise it is not displayed in the side pane in thunar; the "File System," however, is.

Extra Details: It is mounted by HAL as /media/OS, and Nautilus displays it as OS.

Xfdesktop only displays removable volumes. Not sure if it's desirable to support more at this time; probably not in time for 4.6, anyway.

Show all volumes on desktop

In xfdesktop-settings the removable devices option now has an
expander allowing the user to only show network shares, Disk/Drive,
or other device types (i.e. MTP devices) which are then displayed
on the desktop.
