Description Chris Ward 2008-04-06 14:40:43 CEST
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080325 Fedora/2.0.0.13-1.fc8 Firefox/2.0.0.13
Build Identifier:

When i try to open a symlink that is on the desktop, the Open With dialog window appears for a split second and then disappears.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.link any file to the desktop (ln -s file.png ~/Desktop) which normally would open in the proper application when double-clicked
2. try to open it by double-clicking on the it's from the desktop

Actual Results:
watch for the Open With dialog box to appear and disappear.

Expected Results:
The file would open as if it were the file it is symlinked too. OR at minimum, the Open With dialog would open and stay open, so I could choose with which application I would like it to be opened.

It seems to work fine on 1.2.1 (it was probably fixed with the port to gio).
