Sorry, what is that? I just get garbage characters when I click the link. Please don't compress attachments...

At any rate, I'm not sure about this. Users shouldn't care about mounting/unmounting. A device is either plugged in and mounted, or plugged in and ejected (at which point you can't mount it anymore anyway), or unplugged. I dunno, though, need to think about this some more.

Looks like the attachment contains code, just have to gunzip and tar xvf it first.
:)

I haven't checked the code at all. I just wanted to add a vote for the ability to unmount drives without ejecting. For example, wodim -msinfo doesn't work if the disc is mounted and you'd generally unmount a multi-session optical disc before burning.

Another example would be using the "fatsort" utility to reorder music files on an MP3 player, or just for peace of mind when charging the battery, so you could unplug and go at any time without worrying that it might be mounted.

Partitioning a USB flash memory before first use, etc.

Cheers.

No, I don't intend to add mount/unmount support. It's generally an unnecessary operation for a user to perform from the GUI and will clutter up the UI. Disc-related applications that require the CD/DVD to be unmounted but can't do it for you are IMO broken.
