How do you reboot? Because if you reboot “properly” the panel will send save signals, and the font will be saved.

Do you have a Font entry in your configuration file? Look inside $HOME/.config/xfce4/panel/xfce4-notes-plugin-<randmon-number>.rc

The font is low priority, so it gets saved only on the next save signal from the panel. This one is emitted if you configure a plugin, when you close the “Add items” dialog, or after a timeout when you type a note, or or…

Aye, it works fine with Quit from the Xfce menu.
I just changed the font and rebooted immediately and it saves the font.

The problem was I habitually turn off my computer using `shutdown -hP now`  ^^;
...and from this experience I imagine using that way a bad idea

Thanks for your help, Mike!
