Description Dartanyan 2004-10-05 02:18:45 CEST
Sometimes, when I move a list (or a web) with the scrollbars, the text not shows
correctly. When I minimiced and maximiced the window, it shows correctly.

With version 4.0.6 of XFCE and xcomposite activated this effect not appear.

Regards.

Other cpmpositor (xcompmgr) shows the same problem, I don't think it's a problem
with Xfce.

Moreover, there are even apps that don't repaint correctly even without the
compositor. For example, NEdit doesn't repaint correctly with Xorg 6.8.1 when
the composite extenstion is enabled, even w/out any compositor running.

I can't seem to be able to reproduce the problem with current CVS (snapshot here
http://www.xfce.org/~olivier/xfwm4-4.1.91.tar.gz)

I don't have this problem with the same version of X.org, composite and XFCE 4.0.6.

Regards.

Well, not surprising, Xfce 4.0.6 has no compositing manager...
Comment 5 Dartanyan 2004-10-05 15:33:47 CEST
Ok. If I compiled with composite activated, can I to deactivate this feature?

Regards.

xfwm4 --disable-compositor. Or simply don't build xfwm4 with compositor support,
which is the default.

Closing that bug. Looks like it's an X.org vs. nvidia bug:

http://freedesktop.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1258

I am not seeing it w/out accelerated render.

Olivier.
