Because Stephan asked me to do it, I file this as a bug.
The overall nice ristretto-imageviewer should have the ability to change xfdesktops wallpaper.
An option, either in the "Edit" menu or by a right-click on the shown picture should show the possibility to set the actual viewed image as a wallpaper.
For this to function properly, xfdesktop needs to be changed to make this possible.

The code is present in ristretto. It works with xfdesktop-svn with xfconf-patch.

It could use some small tweaks, but it works fine otherwise.
