I am using seamless RDP to integrate MSWindows apps running in a VMWare instance into my desktop. The xfce4 window manager is having a rough time with focus when I start more than one Windows app. I think it all comes back to this error message that I am getting out of rdesktop: Got "BadMatch" when trying to restack windows. I have no idea of what app you are talking about. Is that open source, can we examine the source, where can we download source?
BTW BadMatch means the application is trying to do something wrong, it is not the window manager fault (beside the message)
Yes - this software is open source. The main site is http://www.cendio.com/seamlessrdp/ I am guessing that the code you really want to look at is in the rdesktop client though which is available from http://www.rdesktop.org Metacity does not have the same problem as xfwm4. Perhaps they have added some functionality that the application is expecting to be there? I'm not sure.
I have installed WinXP Pro (expires in 6 days) in vmware with seamlessrdp but I cannot reproduce such a bug. Seamlessrdp doesn't seem to work very well, as I hardly can start more than 1 app at a time, but using notepad+winhelp (2 windows) restacking work fine here. What is your config?
