Playing audio files (OGG, FLAC etc.), which are direct copies of audio CD's, without gapless playback is very annoying. A lot of studio album tracks bleed into each other, and also there are live and/or throughly composed music (like progressive/art rock, jazz, classical), where there is no naturally occurring gap between tracks.

Gapless playback could be done via a plugin, but, IMHO it should rather be implemented in the core program, as it is needed to play files "as they were indented to". Note that this has nothing to do with cross fading; such is not needed to do this (unless using some inherently broken, in regards of gapless playback, audio format, such as mp3). Crossfading/etc. advanced song change effects should probably done via a plugin.

Xine-lib since version 1.1.1 has support for gapless playback, though I have no idea how easily it could be implemented in a GUI program (such as xfmedia).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open succesive audio tracks ripped from a CD, that have no gap between them
   originally
2. Play, and
3. FForward to the near end of the first track, or just wait

Actual Results:
A gap can be heard between the tracks

Expected Results:
No cap should be heard

This is probably high on the priority list, but depending how much code this needs, it could be implemented in the nearer future too.

This probably applies to all platforms, so changed.

Also, I meant to say previously, this is _not_ high on the priority list, probably ;)
