We use Xfce as a system-wide default for our users. We have Xfce configured to set up a lot of defaults for our users including useful local applications on the panel, etc. With the new mailwatch plugin, there is no way to setup a system-wide default that would interpolate shell variables so that each user could be setup automatically to check their mail in /var/mail/USER. This is a feature request to ask the addition of this shell variable interpolation in the system-wide default configuation file for mailwatch.
