Hello,

As of ncurses 5.6, Terminal now has a terminfo entry:

# XFCE Terminal 0.2.5.4beta2
#
# This is based on some of the same source code, e.g., the VTE library, as
# gnome-terminal, but has fewer features, fails more screens in vttest.
# Since most of the terminfo-related behavior is due to the VTE library,
# the terminfo is the same as gnome-terminal.
xfce|Xfce Terminal,
        use=gnome,

I'd suggest waiting a year or so, then changing the default $TERM for Terminal to 'xfce'.

I think I'll only mention this in the manual/tooltip, but leave the default to xterm. Gnome also uses term=xterm, so I guess it's not that important.

Mentioned in the docs, seems good enough for me.
