default web browser setting 'Other' does not handle URIs correctly

Description Visa-Matti Lehtimäki 2007-05-06 12:54:57 CEST
User-Agent: Opera/9.20 (X11; Linux i686; U; en)
Build Identifier:

apparently the 'other' default web browser setting doesn't handle URIs correctly when it comes to special characters.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set your default browser with the 'Other...' setting
2. open a link with a '&' on it from Terminal by middle-clicking or rightclick->open link (example URI: http://www.google.com/search?q=google&lr=lang_pt)

Actual Results:
link is cut off starting from the special character, and browser loads "http://www.google.com/search?q=google" instead of "http://www.google.com/search?q=google&lr=lang_pt"

Expected Results:
browser would open the original link as expected

Currently one can go around this problem by setting the default browser in xfce's "preferred applications" (in my case "opera -newpage") and then select "default web browser (xfce)" from the list. There is also a choise 'Opera' in the list, but it opens a new window instead of a new tab, which doesn't serve my purpose.

Works fine here.

Also works correctly here with exo 0.10.4 and trunk. Marking as invalid for now.
