i made a small script that finds all my images and puts >> them into my backdrops.list file. xfdesktop will only accept the file if it does _not_ end with a line-break. this behaviour is kind of annoying since making a big list takes a bit more work then it should. it'd be nice if it would just accept plain ASCII files with a linebreak such as generated by scripts.
Additional information: also: it would also be nice if i could use my ctrl and shift buttons to select images with the backdrop editor.
xfce version? i'm not seeing the problem with current CVS. xfdesktop _does_ create .list files without a \n at the end, but putting one there doesn't make it stop working. edited on: 08-28 22:52
Sorry, 4.0.6 Ok if it's fixed in CVS it should be allright, i'll wait for 4.0.7 then.
no, it's fixed for the upcoming 4.2.x branch, not for 4.0.x. if someone wants to come up with a patch to fix 4.0.x, that's fine, but i don't really have the time or inclination.
