User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070324 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Thunar fails to display or open the directories representing mounted sshfs shares when fam is running. More specifically, if Thunar and fam are running, and an sshfs share is then mounted, the mountpoint is removed from thunar's display. If the share is then umnounted, the mountpoint reappears in thunar's display. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start the fam daemon. 2.Mount a sshfs share. 3.Launch thunar. 4.Try to locate the sshfs share in Thunar. Alternative scenario: 1.Start the fam daemon. 2.Launch Thunar. 3.Locate the sshfs share's mountpoint in Thunar's display. 4.Mount the sshfs share. Actual Results: The sshfs share's mountpoint was not visible or accessible in Thunar's display. Expected Results: The sshfs share's mountpoint should be visible and accessible in the same way as any other directory. Installed versions: glib 2.12.11 gtk+ 2.10.11 fam 2.7.0 sshfs 1.7
I can reproduce the bug as well, but with SMB mount point. I use fusesmb to mount network shares, using the command "fusesmb /media/shares". With the fuse model loaded and fam daemon running. when /media/shares is selected via thunar, the contents of the directory flash for a second and then returns to parent folder. Stopping the FAM daemon lets the contents be viewed normally.
I have also been affected by these symptoms, when using Thunar and fusesmb I am returned to the parent folder, using terminal or midnight commander or firefox I can browse the mounted share OK. however if configure and run fusesmb and Thunar as root it works OK. I cannot get it to run as a standard user! If I stop FAM it all works OK.
Distro: Arch Linux (64 bit) fam 2.7.0-14 thunar 1.0.1-6 Also confirmed (though I haven't tested/checked FAM), but I can confirm that I am uable to get thunar to open an sshfs mount. The folder displays fine in terminal/etc. When trying to open in thunar it simply returns to the parent folder with the mount folder gnone (as if deleted). hitting F5 causes the mount folder to re-appear and the cycle continues. Is FAM safe to dissable/stop if I need to use thunar over SSHFS temporarily?
As per the instructions at the Arch Linux wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfce#Installing_and_configuring_the_Daemons) It is suggested that FAM is removed and Gamin is used instead. I imagine but wouldn't like to guarantee that this will work for other distributions too, but I use Gamin instead of FAM and my SSHFS share appears and can be used no problem.
Please reopen if this is still an issue with the latest Thunar release.
