User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-feisty)
Build Identifier:

Dragging an item on and off a normal, not auto-hide panel hides that panel.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Drag an item onto a normal panel. Do not release the item
2.Change your mind and put the item on your desktop
3.The panel is hidden (only a few pixels visible)

Expected Results:
Do not hide panel (if it's not set to auto-hide)

I can't reproduce this, I'm afraid. I don't really understand by 'item' though. You say you put the item on the desktop, so does that mean you are dragging something from a file manager to the panel?

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough...

I still can reproduce it on the current SVN version of the panel.

Just grab an item on your desktop (file or 'mount') and drag it to a tasklist on a non-autohide panel. The entire panel will have a 1px border, indicating a 'drop zone'. Do not drop the item on the tasklist, but move away from the panel and drop the item on your desktop again. The panel is now collapsed.

Dragging an item over the panel/tasklist again will reopen the panel, and hide it again if you drag an item over it...

I hope this explanation is a bit clearer...

Thanks, I understand now. I can even reproduce it, so let's hope I can find the solution... ;-)

Ok, it should be fixed with revision 25748.
