User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: I have a dual screen setup with :0.0 and :0.1 as displays (external monitor on my notebook, allows for single screen usage without much hassle). I use VMware console quite a lot and with 4.4 i have the annoying behaviour that everytime the mouse cursor leaves the VMware console window, it jumps to the upper left corner of screen :0.1 (vmware console is running on :0.0). This happens every time and independend of the area where the pointer leaves the VMware window. Very annoying, so much, that i will downgrade to 4.2.3.2 tonight, at least on my productive machine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start vmware console, bring up a running machine 2. enter window with mouse pointer (click if vmware tools are not installed) 3. leave focus of vmware console window either by pressing ctrl-alt or leaving screen area of running VM
Well, xfwm4 doesn't warp the pointer at all so I wonder how this could be related to the window manager. One way to make sure it's related to the WM would be to try with another one, just replacing the WM. Did you try this?
BTW, it's a duplicate. We shall follow this issue in bug report #2767 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 2767 ***
