Dragging a file with spaces into the backdrop textbox doesn't work

When I have opened the backdrop settings and a Thunar window, I drag a file into the 'file' textbox. But if the filename or path contains spaces, they are converted to uri-style '%20'. As a result the desktop behaves as if no image were used.
