Date: Error

Description Scott H 2007-02-05 01:57:50 CET
The text field next to the Date keyword says "error" for some reason. It's possible I don't have some dependency that's needed (although I wouldn't think it would need anything fancy to get the date). The date is correctly highlighted in the above calendar widget however.

The keyword 'Error' is displayed when an incorrect date-format is entered in the configuration dialog. What happens if you enter a simple format string like '%Y/%m/%d'?

Ahh I see the problem now.. I had deleted the date string entirely (and it initially did what I wanted, which is it removed the 2nd line from the panel display). But when I restart xfce, rather than the second line staying hidden, it shows "error" there too. And I didn't realize that the format in that text entry is tied to the specified properties format..

I guess my only suggestion would be to show "error" for the 2nd line right away if the user removes the entire format string, since that is what will appear on a restart of the panel. I wouldn't have been confused if that had happened.

This bug should be fixed in 0.4.3
Could you please confirm this?

Thx for reporting :)
