If MiscTabCloseButtons is set TRUE, there is no problem. But if it's set FALSE and more than one tab is opened, the problem occrurs. 1. In your terminalrc file: MiscTabCloseButtons=FALSE 2. Start Terminal and open a new tab with hitting ctrl+shift+t. 3. Make a new directory named non-ASCII chars (e.g. "가나다"): mkdir 가나다 4. cd 가나다 5. The size of Terminal gets smaller. 6. cd .. 7. cd 가나다 8. The size of Terminal gets smaller again. 9. cd .. cd 가나다 cd .. cd 가나다 The size gets smaller, smaller, smaller continuously. I am using the latest terminal(0.2.6). But this bug is still alive.
Err, I cannot believe that is related to MiscTabCloseButtons, as this option simply hides the stupid close button in the tab headers. This rather looks like a bug in VTE to me. Can you check with gnome-terminal?
I'm using gnome-terminal too and it has the close button, I don't know how to hide it. And it doesn't have any problem. I am using Terminal for over an year in 2 Gentoo boxes and I can confirm this bug with both Terminals. However, I found there's no problem with Terminal from the Xubuntu live-cd. Possibly this is not a Terminal's bug. I have no idea.
Any new one this one in the terminal 0.4 releases?
Ancient bug. Closing.
