Description Bartek 2007-01-11 19:16:05 CET
User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0.0.1 (Ubuntu-edgy)
Build Identifier:

In Xfce 4.4 BETA2.

The xfce-menu items are not correctly displayed.
For example:

/usr/share/applications/ooo-base.desktop

contains the line

Categories=Application;Office;Database

yet the menu displays it like so:

Xfce Menu > Multimedia > Database > OpenOffice.org Database

While

/usr/share/applications/ooo-impress.desktop

which contains the line

Categories=Application;Office;Presentation

is displayed correctly:

Xfce Menu > Office > Presentation > OpenOffice.org Presentation

Thunar is shown in the Engineering menu even though the launcher's Categories value is:

Application;System;Utility;Core;GTK;FileManager

I can't find a discernible pattern to which items are displayed correctly, which are not and which (and there are quite a few) and not displayed in the menu at all.

Reproducible: Always

The multilevel menu option isn't really supported. If it works for you, great, if not, well, that's a shame. 4.6 will have a 'real' menu implementation.
