Since there are quite some questions about support for hal/dbus/fam/... in Thunar, It might be (very) useful to show the build configuration in the version information, like 'xfwm4 -V' does.
This could also be added to the about dialog.

It's indeed ugly, I know. But many people wonder if Thunar was building with dbus/startunotify etc (esp. from binary distributions). You can also echo this content to README.buildconfig and distribute this with the package. This way you can add it in a sane way when you want to break some strings again. Duno, just an idea.
