The key combination "Alt" + "1" ('^[1')is not passed to the underlying application without regard of the input method selected. Other terminals like xterm and gnome-terminal do so correctly. Common use-case: bitchx default keybinding for window 1 switch.

Alt+n is the default shortcut to switch to the nth tab. You can change that in Preferences -> Shortcuts.

Erm... That was rather dumb I agree. I was misled by the option "Disable all menu access keys (such as Alt+f)" thinking it effectively disables the action list above it. Sorry to bother.
