the icon for the terminal should be "terminal", not "gnome-terminal". esp. since the gnome-icon-theme follows the fd.o naming spec too.

the icon for webbrowser should be "web-browser".

Not at this point.  There are very very very few icon themes that support the fd.o spec fully (pretty much just Tango and gnome-icon-theme, as far as I know), and many many many more icon themes that support the old 'gnome' standard.  This might get changed later, but not now.

according to http://foo-projects.org/pipermail/xfce4-dev/2006-November/021770.html you should propably change the action for opening the terminal from xfterm4 to exo-open --launch TerminalEmulator though. And maybe change the web browser from xfbrowser4 to exo-open --launch WebBrowser too.

you're right about the icons being changed later, though. i thought more icon sets out there would already use the tango specs but appearantly they don't. pitty.

Right, but that would be a separate bug.  This one is closed.
