User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 Build Identifier: When starting an OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 component (writer, calc, etcetera) from the Xfce menu, the options specified on the "Exec=" line of the component's .desktop file don't seem to register. For example, selecting the menu entry for OOo Writer results in a successful start of OOo, but the writer component does not automatically show; instead, only the basic OOo window is shown. I've confirmed that there are no other .desktop files for OOo anywhere else on the system. This does work properly in kde. An attachment will be added with a more detailed look at the .desktop file, the actual commands being called, and outputs of /proc/$PID/cmdline when run. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start an OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 component from the xfce menu (in theory, this should apply to any application that passes options to the command line in the .desktop file, but theories are often wrong) :) Actual Results: OOo starts, but the component itself is not active. Expected Results: Starting OOo Writer from the menu should start OOo and make the Writer component active.

Yup, this is known; pretty sure there was a bug filed on this in the past, or maybe a discussion on the mailing list. Either way, not gonna get fixed. Wait for Jannis' real fd.o menu implementation in 4.6.
