in 23404 i can't get the compositing tab in wmteaks and when i set UseCompositing in the xfwm4.xml file to 1 and restart xfwm4, i don't get compositing too. i tried to rebuild several times, with and without xcompmgr (is it needed?). it worked some days ago when i tested, though. compositing is enabled in the xorg.conf.
Humm, I'm using it right now and it works ofourdan@r3000:~$ xfwm4 --version This is xfwm4 version 4.3.99.2 (revision 23403) for Xfce 4.3.99.1 Released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Compiled against GTK+-2.10.6, using GTK+-2.10.6. Build configuration and supported features: - Startup notification support: Yes - Render support: Yes - Xrandr support: Yes - Embedded compositor: Yes - KDE systray proxy (deprecated): No
xcompmgr is really *not* needed and unrelated (Please note that if xcompmgr or any other compositing manager is running, xfwm4 compositor cannot be enabled - Only one compositor can run at a time!)
yeah, i just asked because it was still mentioned in the arch PKGBUILD as a makedepends and i thought it wasn't needed, that's why i asked about xcompmgr. just to make sure. i get the same output as you do, though: baze ~ $ xfwm4 --version This is xfwm4 version 4.3.99.2 (revision 23404) for Xfce 4.3.99.1 Released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Rev 23407. should have this fixed.
BTW, thanks for the report, seems I couldn't get that fixed for a while, beside all my attempts to do so.
yes, it's back :> thank you.
