From time to time, my ISP's mail servers get real slow at responding to
requests. When this is the case, and mailcheck checks for mail, the xfce4-panel
process takes up 100% CPU time, and stops responding to input. Only possible
action is to kill the panel and start it up again.

Additional information:

I assume the while loop in pop3_read_response is the culprit, but haven't
DBG'ed.

Thanks for the report. I don't think I will have much time, if any, to work on
this, so if someone else would like to have a look, that would be highly
appreciated.

Probably mail checking, at least remote, should be done in a separate thread.

Reducing severity to enhancement, since the simplicity is really part of the
design. Solution for this problem should IMO come from a systray icon.

Settings this to new mailwatch component.

Er, I don't want this... This has nothing to do with mailwatch ^_~. Close it as
WONTFIX if you don't want to mess with it....
Comment 6 Jasper Huijsmans editbugs 2005-05-08 16:58:00 CEST
hehe, sorry Brian, i didn't actually mean to assign this one to you.

I'll set this to WONTFIX. Work has been started on a new mailwatch plugin that
will solve this issue.
