You're going to need to be a little more specific. What are you trying to do when the "keyboard doesn't work" (whatever that means)? What keys do you press, and what do you expect to happen? What actually happens? I really have no idea what you're trying to say.

There's a reason why all those boxes are in the guided new bug form. Use them.

Sorry my information was not that helpfull.
Well I don't realy know, what is the cause of this problem. That's why i could not provide more information. Last time it happened as I switched to another display and whanted to type an www-adress but I could not see any letters. I tryed to open menu, but it did not work. Left klick on the desktop didn't work either. But I could switch to the console with "Ctrl+Alt+F2", login, kill xfdesktop an start it again with "DISPLAY=:0 xfdesktop &" but it did not help. Than i switched to the first console an there was that error. I called "xfdesktop --menu" an there was one more of that error. I could move the mouse pointer, switch between another running application by pointing on it, but could not get menu by right-click and could not typing anything. I have already had the same probem several times befor (and not only while desktopswitching) so i desided to write a bug report this time.
Thad problem did not appear while using the version 4.2.3 .

Sorry, I could not reproduce it and did not know how to describe it the right way.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with xfdesktop. Maybe xfwm4? Not really sure. Olivier, any ideas?

What about upgrading to RC1 and look if it still happens? There has already been a bugreport for a keyboard problem which has been fixed in RC1.

may be you are right. That was the point why I was using XGL, compiz and gnomw-window-decorator. Tried it for a while and had no troubles. Today switched back to standad xfce4 an it happened again.

Still waiting for an RC-1 ebuild in portage for upgrade.

Yes, it definitely have something to do with xfwm4. It just happened again and after killing and starting xfwm4 I was able to type and open menu.
