"new dialog" doesn't add extension to new archives

when i use the thunar plugin to create an archive, the default archive type is set to "by extension". I think it should be set to sth more common like .tar.gz since you always have to edit the new filename which makes the pre-entering a bit useless.

but even if you chose zip or tar.gz from the combobox and the option "add the archive extension" is checked, it is not used. when i just change the archive type to .tar.gz and click create, then i'm told that the file (the original filename without the new archive extension) already exists and asked if i want to overwrite it.
