I'm running xfce 4.4rc1 and I drug a folder "Downloads" from the Desktop into a window (in icon view) and the folder moved into my home folder, but the icon on the desktop did not disappear. I can still select the folder, but double-clicking does nothng.

Did you build Thunar (-> thunar-vfs) with support for either Gamin or FAM? And is gam_server or famd running?

Not sure if my comments where saved earlier so I'll post them again. I did the install with the graphical installer with the default flags set so I'm not sure what support it had set up by default. Also, the gam_server is running on my system.

You probably did not have the gamin devel package installed while running the installer. You can fix this by installing the devel package, downloading the separate Thunar installer from thunar.xfce.org and rebuilding Thunar with it. Then log out of your desktop and back in. That should fix your problem.

I downloaded the gamin development files and rebuilt from source (and I rebuilt xfce-desktop for good measure). However, when I drag and drop a folder from my home folder to the desktop it still is copying the folder instead of moving it. Is that correct behavior?

I should state dragging a folder both directions, from home -> desktop and desktop -> home both operations copy the folder instead of moving it.

You can hold down Shift to move instead of copy, just like with every other GTK+ app. Maybe xfdesktop should default to move if the source is on the same disk. You can file a feature request to xfdesktop.

Resolving this bug to INVALID, because it was due to missing Gamin.
