To reproduce:

1) put a .desktop file whose filename has ++ in /usr/share/applications. Click with right mouse button on the desktop and get the crash.
2) run xfdesktop from the command line and crash occurs again.
3) delete the .desktop file and xfdesktop starts with no crashes.

Sorry, it wasn't that causing the crash, anyway when I add this dektop file xfdesktop crashes:

Ehm, now the crash doesn't occur anymore. Ok, I close the bug.
