when 2 instances of mousepad are running, you can't dnd text from one window to another. and you can't dnd selected text in a single instance either.
i didn't know if this would be a bug or an enhancement, but i just saw on http://foo-projects.org/~benny/xfce/apps.html that mousepad supported drag and drop, so i filed this as a bug.

btw, selected text should be moved by default, not copied when using dnd in a single instance and of course copied when dropping text in another instance.

DnD support in Mousepad is currently just for opening files. Drag a file from Thunar or Nautilus, for example, into a Mousepad window, it'll open up.

That said, DnD text should work. I'll work on it for a post 4.4.0 release.

This bug has been reported on Ubuntu Launchpad as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681159

1) Open Mousepad.
2) Type some text.
3) Use mouse to select a portion of the text.
4) Use mouse to drag the selected text to a different location in the text file, then release the mouse.
5) BUG: No change in text. BUG: No insertion point for where text should be cut+pasted to.

I can't reproduce this bug using the 0.3.0 version.
Even the bug on Ubuntu Launchpad has been marked as fixed.
