Description Jani Monoses 2006-07-13 20:02:10 CEST
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Ubuntu/edgy Firefox/1.5.0.4
Build Identifier:

using thunar 0.3.2 and the xarchiver 4.3.90.2 plugin when creating new archives from directories they come out 0 sized tar.bz2 or tar.gz files.
Same can be reproduced with xarchiver form svn as of today and just the command line xarchive --new dir, so no thunar plugin.

Reproducible: Always

Can you please tell me the exact steps to have an archive of 0 bytes ?
Comment 4 Jani Monoses 2006-07-14 09:06:16 CEST
sorry I gave a misleading summary. Actually for folders the default is to create bz2 (non tar) archives so they come out 0 sized. I overlooked this, but it make a better default to DTRT for folders, so use tar.bz2
thanks
