xfce4-panel 4.0.5 will crash if you use the logout button.
Comment 1 xfcebugs 2004-05-07 18:34:17 CEST
Additional information:

(xfce4-session:4076): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_set_valist: construct
property "type" for object `GtkDialog' can'
t be set after construction
The program 'xfce4-session' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 1078 error_code 8 request_code 42 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

It's xfce4-session, not the panel. I can't remember if there is a solution
for this. Can it be you use it with gtk 2.4?

- xfce4-session is not part of any release. You are on your own. I would vote
for closing this bug.
- xfce4-session requires libs from CVS HEAD, so unless you have switched to CVS
versions (in which case you are not using 4.0.5), you are running an outdated
version
- recent xfce4-session has been modified for gtk+-2.4.x

its a gentoo-system. Don't know where the xfce4-session is coming from ;)

There have been beta releases.

Anyway, if you compiled with gtk 2.4, it won't work. Sorry.

Your best bet for now is to uninstall xfce4-session and run without session
manager.

Fixed in CVS, won't be fixed in (unreleased) stable branch.
