When I have an android camera plugged in, mounted or unmounted, a 'sysfs-(null) Camera' entry will appear.

This problem lies within the middleware xfce4-color-settings relies on, so you would have to file it upstream against colord. That's where xfce4-color-settings gets the device information from...

(Not even sure if colord would be the right component, it's possible that some Linux drivers don't resolve the camera of your Android phone correctly.)

Okay i've filed it upstream, though is it not possible for us to simply not show entries like this when underlying components incorrectly report things.

I have considered that too, but how do you identify correctly what is wrong?

I don't see any reliable way. Furthermore the underlying middleware could do that more efficiently.
