Thunar does not scroll in icon/compact list view on sway/wayland

RESOLVED: MOVED

Description gleachkr 2020-03-24 03:25:32 CET
In both compact list view and icon view, Thunar won't respond to a (two-finger trackpad) scroll. Scrolling works well in the detailed list view. This occurs when running thunar under sway, but it may affect other wayland compositors, I haven't checked. This has occured both on x86 and arm64 machines, so I'm assuming it's hardware independent.

Thanks for reporting !

So far I did not go for sway/wayland ... so I will not work on it in the near future.
However, if you are willing to track it down, patches would be very welcome !

This may be resolved by the fix for bug 16759 -> GDK_SMOOTH_SCROLL_MASK.

This doesn't seem to be resolved on thunar 1.8.15 - is that the release that the change would appear in?

No, the patch on the linked bug is for exo (libexo) .. a dependency of thunar. The patch was not pushed to exo master yet.

If you want to take a try, you will need to build exo with the patch from source and install it.
