Dear developers,

in Thunar (and possibly in any dialog which shows folders and files) is it possible to make an option to show NON hidden folders\files first?

Actually it works like this:

.hidden_folder_1
.hidden_folder_2
.hidden_folder_3
folder_1
folder_2
folder_3
.hidden_file_1
.hidden_file_2
.hidden_file_3
file_1
file_2
file_3

It would be a nice option to be able to switch the view like this:

folder_1
folder_2
folder_3
.hidden_folder_1
.hidden_folder_2
.hidden_folder_3
file_1
file_2
file_3
.hidden_file_1
.hidden_file_2
.hidden_file_3

Thanks for your work!

Aehm .. actually that already works.
Since the dot is part of the filename, it is sufficient to select "Sort by Name" + "descending" in View --> Sort

In Details view you can just click on the "Name" column to sort by name. Click twice to toggle between ascending/descending.

Make sure that "show folders before files" is set in the "view preferences".

Hi,

not really, 'cause obviously it'll show the items in inverted order:

folder_3
folder_2
folder_1
.hidden_folder_3
.hidden_folder_2
.hidden_folder_1
file_3
file_2
file_1
.hidden_file_3
.hidden_file_2
.hidden_file_1

...causing even more confusion. So this is not a solution IMHO.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

Uh, sorry , I never thought about that ;)

Possibly an option "show hidden files always below others"

Patches are welcome !
