If I reduce the opacity of the Whisker menu, it affects the outer frame (including the categories) but it also affects the selected item in the app list. Please see the attached screenshot demonstrating the problem. It was present for some time already, well before the 4.14 Xfce release.

This is always how the opacity setting has worked. The only way I could figure out how to make the opacity work impacts the entire window, and not just the background. It is either this, or no opacity at all. Sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply! I don't quite understand though. :) I mean, the background of the app list is not transparent, how does this work and why does the same not work with the selected item inside the list?
