Currently all tabs and windows of xfce-terminal have the same font size, colors settings, window style. It will be convenient to be able to run instances of xfce-terminal with the possibility to custom tune these settings. I often open windows with tiny fonts to be able to display text/log files or websites with long lines without affecting the natural format of the file, but i'd also like to have windows with big fonts for comfortable reading of random things i might do.
Hi, It's already possible to set font and zoom per window, and text and background color per terminal (tab) via command line parameters. Is there anything else that you're missing? Tab Options: -x, --execute; -e, --command=command; -T, --title=title; --dynamic-title-mode=mode ('replace', 'before', 'after', 'none'); --initial-title=title; --working-directory=directory; -H, --hold; --active-tab; --color-text=color; --color-bg=color Window Options: --display=display; --geometry=geometry; --role=role; --drop-down; --startup-id=string; -I, --icon=icon; --fullscreen; --maximize; --minimize; --show-menubar, --hide-menubar; --show-borders, --hide-borders; --show-toolbar, --hide-toolbar; --show-scrollbar, --hide-scrollbar; --font=font; --zoom=zoom
well, probably i should have mentioned the version i'm using, this is 0.6.3.This one does not seem to have font, zoom, and some other options. Also, why these are not available through the gui? any change applied through the gui applies to all windows and tabs open.
You should consider upgrading to the latest version - there will be no new releases for the 0.6.3 branch. FWIW, the zoom is already per window and configurable through the GUI. It would be possible to make others GUI-configurable as well, which ones you'd be interested in?
well, in principle gui's allow setting all the options available through command line.
