This has worked fine for me for ages but has regressed in an update somewhere in the last week on Fedora 30; see below for versions. When logging in the alignment of the two monitors is wrong; with the smaller of my two monitors being at the top rather than the bottom. I've got two systems that are affected: a) Desktop: Main UHD monitor and HD monitor to the right b) Work laptop: Main UHD monitor and internal LCD to the left I arrange the monitors such that in the 'display' setting they're aligned at the bottom - but the change in the last week has seen the lower res monitor being aligned at the top. Here's my xrandr output from my Desktop, after I've pulled them back into the right position: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 5760 x 2160, maximum 16384 x 16384 DP-1 connected primary 3840x2160+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 621mm x 341mm .... HDMI-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-D-1 connected 1920x1080+3840+1080 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 477mm x 268mm .... As far as I can tell from your description your bug has been reported and mitigated already. See https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15437 and https://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/commit/?id=1f94a8b0890d2c3228e5c70b24c5cc9979ebb9d5 You can use this command as a workaround until the next version of xfce4-settings is available in Fedora30: xfconf-query -c displays -p /AutoEnableProfiles -s false

That command gives the error: $ xfconf-query -c displays -p /AutoEnableProfiles -s false Property "/AutoEnableProfiles" does not exist on channel "displays". If a new property should be created, use the --create option. and if I add --create: $ xfconf-query --create -c displays -p /AutoEnableProfiles -s false When creating a new property, the value type must be specified. I'll file a fedora bz asking for them to backport that fix.
Fedora bz: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1724231
Sorry, there must be some syntax error in my command line then. You can also do this in the settings UI, go to the advanced tab and enable "configure new displays" to be able to enable and then disable the "auto enable profiles" option.
Created attachment 8689 Screenshot of the setting Just to be sure, here's a screenshot of the setting you need to deactivate.
That's already off for me, but note that it doesn't list any profiles in the profile list.
