I'm using 6 desktops aligned as 2x3 (2 is the number of rows). To switch between them i'm using the ctrl+alt+direction shortcuts. They all work except ctrl+alt+down. I'm experiencing this on Version 4.2.2 using the debs from ubuntu-breezy. However when discussing the issue in IRC Eulex also reproduced the error using the svn-version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create 6 desktops aligned 2x3 2. press ctrl+alt+down 3. voila Actual Results: nothing Expected Results: vertical desktop switch i'll classify this minor, because as an easy workaround just press ctrl+alt+up and the wraparound brings you down. However this can be quite confusing and deorientating.
I reassigned it to the panel, as the panel-applet is used to configure the geometry of the desktops. (however not the number).
Can you check the shortcuts? In 4.2.2/3 the ctrl+alt+down was not set by default. And it works in SVN.
i can't seem to find where to change that setting. there doesn't seem to exist an entry for ctrl+alt+direction in any of the settings windows.
Settings => Window Manager Settings => Keyboard Tab => Bottom Workspace (or Upper Workspace, Right Workspace, Left Workspace) If it's greyed out, it's because the default system wide configuration is not editable, just create a new theme by clicking "Add" and then edit the shortcuts. Another solution would be to switch to a recent SVN revision. http://www.xfce.org/~olivier/preview/xfwm4-4.2.4-r20468.tar.bz2
