My monitor has DPI 112, as reported correctly by xrandr, but not xdpyinfo. (There is a long-standing bug about that. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=863669 )

I don't know where Appearance takes its DPI value from, but if unchecked, it's not 112 by default.

(As a suggestion, would it be possible to show the DPI detected by xfce on the same 'fonts' tab?)
