Maybe change order of Status bar and Menu bar in the Show menu. Since menu bar is at the top of the window and status bar is at the bottom. So maybe better to have it that way in the menu to. Maybe even have it in this order: menu bar side pane places selector status bar That way its like if you read left to right text.

I dont know if there are guide lines for all the Xfce applications on how to place the menu items but if there are it would be nice if they used the same style across all applications. I dont even know what "Make it configurable" means. git/patch is not easy for me but maybe we can figure out if there are such guide lines first and if there should be such guide lines if they dont exists for all applications to follow.
closing this bug .. actualy I would rather keep the current menu order. Not worth to change things for unknown benefit while confusing existing users.
