on horizontal panel, http://hideout.unk.fi/~drac/mixer1.png on vertical panel, http://hideout.unk.fi/~drac/mixer2.png everything from svn.. it doesn't quit or anything, it's there on second picture too but slider disappears and it leaves just that small line. whoops, sorry. took new shots, and apperantly now only icon disappears. same URLs for 2 pics.

you mean the mixer icon disappearo but the slider stays, right? Can you give me your panel config please? (entire folder ~/.config/xfce4/panel) Thanks
I reworked the sizing stuff, it should be better.
