Feature Request - Option to group all windows of the same application to one ...

RESOLVED: MOVED

Description leafysteez 2018-12-18 23:16:48 CET
Instead of having multiple windows of the same application in the alt+tab dialog, have the ability to group all windows of the same application to a single icon. Ie. leafpad-file1, leafpad-file2, ristretto-image1, ristretto-image2, would simply be shown as leafpad and ristretto in alt+tab. This in conjunction with the already implemented feature to switch windows of the same application via a key binding would increase work flow for some users who do prefer such an interface.

That's one of the feature I dislike most in gnome-shell and Mac OS.

I understand there are people who will dislike it, hence would it be possible to implement it as a toggle-able option. Similar to the option to group windows of the same application in the xfce panel for those who prefer it that way.
