I see that the stopwatch plugin is in active development, with commits as recent as October; however, it has not been packaged for release seemingly since 2009! Please consider updating the packaging for such packages. Personally, it would be nice to see a downstream update in debian (which would of course migrate to *buntu and other derivatives).

I had a look at the stopwatch plugin and it sort of depends on fixing the vala binding to libxfce4util. https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14766
This bug report is misplaced - upstream doesn't do any packaging. You have to address your respective distribution about getting updated packages. But yeah, as Nathanael mentioned, it may not be packaged for a reason.
