Xfburn does not detect second device
Status:
RESOLVED: WORKSFORME

Description Justin W. Flory 2018-11-29 17:45:12 CET
## Summary

Xfburn does not detect second device to burn media with

## Background

I have two drives on my computer: one internal and one external over USB 2.0. The internal drive's bay door isn't working, so I am unable to use it. However, Xfburn does not detect my second disk device. I verified it appears as an option in other disc burning utilities such as K3b, Brasero, and VLC. I am not able to manually specify the path.

I verified the drive is mounted and accessible. Running `eject /dev/sr1` works even though Xfburn does not detect it.

Sounds similar to #4910, but #4910 was opened nine years ago and never had a confirmed issue, so I thought it was better to open a new ticket.

## What I expected

To select my USB external disk drive as device of choice

## What happened

USB external disk drive does not appear in devices or when scanned for new devices

## Outcome of fixing

I will be able to use my working CD/DVD drive to burn new discs

I can't confirm this, my main dev platform has two SATA writers (a DVD and a BD writer) and
0.6.x sees both /dev/sr0 and /dev/sr1

will need to check if my external USB DVD writer shows up too.

however I do have more than 1 writer available with no issues.

I'll downgrade this to a major issue.
I will close this if no other information is available by the end of the week.

/dev/sr2 is my USB DVD writer
