Enhancement request: Navigation after removing files
Status:
RESOLVED: WORKSFORME

Comments

Description jjvb.primus 2018-11-16 11:54:00 CET
Most annoying to me is the navigation, after I removed some files/folders. Assume the following list, (indicating ** for the selected file/folder)

bobmrdgqcp
chlnmqiosq
dddccaqjrh
fuguhmydhj
hhpycabrlv
igsvwtiznf
iuycytvvcp
jhpfrzwzih **
jrnotzaqzr
nvwlxmdcnr
ojktfbhbni
qxdrnlojey
rkcipntcgb
ucwbezmcep
vdsfurkrky
weushgbymz
zcppxmqrsz

Now I delete the file using the [Delete] key. If I thereafter press the [CursorUp] or [CursorDown] key, I always end up at the first file in the list. This makes it hard to clean up a folder with many (maybe hundreds of) files. I'd expected to have
[CursorDown] to select jrnotzaqzr
[CursorUp] to select iuycytvvcp

If there was multiple files selected before delete, I'd expect
[CursorDown] to select the next file after the last file removed
[CursorUp] to select the previous file before the first file removed

Thanks for reporting !

Seems like this bug got already fixed in thunar 1.8.x ... at least I cannot reproduce it there.
In 1.6.15 I can reproduce the bug.

Please take a try for 1.8.x .. if there are still problems for you, feel free to reopen !
