If you select sleep mode,or hibernation from the menu that appears after you enter the - xfce4-session-logout command, the modes do not work... and if you for example enter the command xfce4-session-logout --suspend sleep mode is working fine.

It turned out the problem is in my laptop when using kernels 4.15*
