Xfce Desktop Menu Missing Terminal Option
Status:
RESOLVED: INVALID

Comments

Description Davemac 2018-10-06 03:43:29 CEST
When running under Xfce as 'root' or a regular user, and you right mouse
click on the desktop, it will bring up a menu with the 'Open Terminal Here'
conspicuously absent. Earlier versions did not suffer from this.

The 'Open Terminal Here' option *is* available in the Thunar instances,
  just not on the Desktop.

Further the 'Open Terminal Here' is set as a custom action, and appears to
  be configured correctly.

This is inconsistent with menu options for Thunar versions prior to 1.8.2

Happens under Slackware-current (both 64-bit and 32-Bit) and under Arch

Doesn't matter if root or regular user

Sorry, this is a known compartibility problem.

Thunar Plugin API has changed, and xfdesktop 4.12 still uses the old API.

As far as I know it is already fixed for the development release of xfdesktop ( 4.13.2 )

Yes, this is an unfortunate outcome of releasing Thunar ahead of other components.
